When the days were younger and there was not a care in the world. How beautiful the sun shined in those days.
Grandpa and Grandma took good care of me and my sister. Thing were so much different then. We showed respect for our elders. We wouldn’t have known how to get into trouble if we had wanted to.
And a water pump that you had to prime before pumping. Does anybody know what it consisted of priming a pump? It was always at it’s worst during the winter months. You had to save enough water priming and keep it inside to keep it from freezing.
We had an outdoor toilet with two holes, no waiting. And it was a cold walk during the winter time. We didn’t have the luxury of toilet paper, that’s what Sears and Roebuck catalogs were for. They were in black and white then.
We went to a one room school house. We walked at least a mile and a half to school each day. It was a nice walk every day except for the winter months again. Everyone loved the teacher and showed her the greatest respect. She would go around to the different classes and check on each individual person.
Oh, it was so wonderful then.
